In this tutorial we’ll see how to create a nice graphic poster advertising in a few steps with Illustrator and Photoshop.
This tutorial aims to be an inspirational starting point for you, dear reader, anxious to be available in these simple techniques to create your poster in an original and personal
First Open up Illustrator and create a new file (the size is not important now).
We create with the pen tool
small random curves and then choose how this border style:
Turn the edges into lines and then clicking on Object > Expand Apparence
Then create a group with all objects: Select all objects, right-click > Create Group
Now take a color object (the group), then copied the object, give it a different color and rotate slightly. Repeat until you get a satisfactory result, here’s an example:
And so you finished the tutorial in Illustrator. You can save the project but not even close the program. Now open a new file in Photoshop. You can choose the format that suits you (A3, A4, etc. …).
Create a black background with the paint bucket tool.
Then enter your text with the Text tool.
I suggest to choose a big font.
Now go back to Illustrator and select the whole figure created earlier (mac: Apple C, Win: Ctrl C). Return to Photoshop and paste the image by selecting the Smart Object, resize and reposition the image to fit your needs.
Rasterize the layer (level) by right clicking on the layer + Rasterize Layer.
Create as many copies as you want and place the image in any position you want, for instance around the sides delo your text.
Now we use our text as a mask. Select all the layers corresponding to the colored figures, right-click on one of them and select Create Clipping Mask.
Here’s the result you should get:
Using this technique Create your poster (poster, posters, …). Keep in mind that you can use as a mask not only texts but also vector shapes like I did with the logo of LiberArs.
